  • Grieving can be an isolating experience even where we have family and friends around us. The support group brings bereaved people together to share, feel heard, supported and encouraged as they grieve and attend to life in the midst of loss.

  • The group does not provide counselling services. It is a peer to peer support and connection.

  • In the group, all members are equals to enable open communication in a safe context.

  • Some benefits members gain from participating in the group include:

    • Reduced anxiety, depression, loneliness

    • Validation and witnessing similarities in how others are experiencing grief

    • Comfortableness to speak openly about death and loss

    • Hearing how others are coping and managing with loss of life

    • Opportunity to share and support others going through a similar loss

  • You are welcome to contact the coordinator via email or phone as detailed on this site. The coordinator will take time to talk through aspects of how the group meetings are run so that you feel safe and supported attending your first meeting.
